Our client, a global leader in professional services began a journey of transformation over three years ago, with an intention to redesign the professional services industry.
The hypothesis was that with advanced data processing and analytics, they could offer their customers, faster more efficient solutions and find new opportunities based on complex analysis of vast quantities of data.
For almost three years, the business had invested in building sophisticated data process capabilities that would rival the leading tech firms. They had redesigned their global technology team, to be a leader and partner to the business leader rather than cost center.
Our team were engaged to deliver a contemporary AI leader who could help them deliver their vision and begin to realize significant potential revenue. We were asked for an iconic disruptor, someone that the market, our client’s team, and their clients would acknowledge as a game changing appointment.
The initial priorities were to capture the extent of the excellent innovation that had been delivered to date while articulating the ambiguity and freedom that this leader would have to drive the future of the transformation.
We believed that due to the productization of the data and the technology innovation, a technology leader from the professional services space would not be contemporary or compelling. Instead, we focused on our extensive network in technology, speaking to leaders from the major technology firms who use data and analytics across their platforms to deliver their products and anticipate their users / clients needs. The key to the success of this search was truly understanding the global impact that this role could have and being able to articulate that message to industry innovators who want to own and drive change.

Our search was to identify a Head of Marketing who could work with the Executive team to define the ongoing marketing and thought leadership strategy, framing the ever-evolving vision of the firm’s future. Cultural fit was a huge priority along with the individual’s ability to deliver results, work with ambiguity and adapt at speed.
We launched the search in late 2020 as COVID-19 continued to disrupt our society. Our goal was to identify a DC based marketing leader, who could quickly impact the future of EastBanc Technologies.
As the search unfolded, we operated in a fully remote setting, conducting 95% of meetings and interviews by video. We opted for one in-person session with all parties agreeing to remain masked for the duration only to realise the challenges of communication when no facial expressions can be shared.
Our team focused on developing EastBanc technologies brand through our efforts, creating a candidate experience through the interview and selection process that was synonymous with their purpose – to solve and future-proof with the most complex engineering questions.
