We invest heavily in your career aspirations to maximise your potential and ensure a long and rewarding career.
Whether you’re just starting out or are more experienced, you have access to bespoke training and guidance to help you grow both personally and professionally as you progress through the business.
Our training programmes are designed specifically for the stage you are at in your career, whether as an associate, mid-level, or senior management, and many of our Managing Directors have worked their way up through the organisation from associate level.
If you’re just starting your career, our associate programme will motivate, challenge, and ultimately equip you with all the skills required to become a successful search consultant or researcher. Developed in conjunction with the Association of Executive Search and Leadership Consultants, you’ll earn the industry-recognised Certification in Executive Research (CER).
As well as regular development opportunities, you also benefit from quarterly and annual appraisals, where you can set and agree your objectives, discuss your progression, and celebrate your achievements.
From day one you’ll be assigned a buddy to support your orientation into your new team and the business. You will also be assigned a mentor if you want – typically a senior member of staff from a different team who will provide you with guidance, share their own experiences and learnings and advise you on how to navigate your career.

“Sheffield Haworth has a very entrepreneurial spirit and genuinely gives people opportunities at any age and stage of their careers. What is unique about the company is the access you get as an Associate to senior leaders in the business who are more than willing to share their knowledge and experiences with you – something which you don’t get at a larger firm.”
Andrew Thompson
Managing Director, Wealth & Asset Management Practice, New York
“I really enjoy the close collaboration with my managers and other senior individuals, which helps to foster real-time learning and development as well as mentorship. I’m fortunate to work with great people who are smart, driven and engaged, which helps to contribute to a strong internal culture. The firm is also entrepreneurial and meritocratic, with clear frameworks around career progression but without too much rigidity. Everyone is encouraged to take on responsibility as they feel comfortable, and their success is celebrated and rewarded.”
Jannah Babasa
Senior Associate, Real Estate Practice, New York

“I started as an Associate at Sheffield Haworth, and the firm has truly allowed me to develop professionally and personally. The boutique feel we maintain as an established and growing firm is a rarity in this industry. Having incredible mentors across the firm has been crucial in my growth. That doesn’t just include my MD’s, but also the CEO, CFO, and practice leaders, all with a vested interest in my career. This allowed me to take a more significant role with clients that are some of the industry’s most sophisticated investors on high-profile strategic projects. The intellectually stimulating work and meritocracy nature of Sheffield is a real differentiator.”
Louis Demetro
Senior Associate, Wealth & Asset Management Team, New York
Since joining SH I have been provided with an incredible runway for growth. I’ve been able to interface with clients, work on senior mandates since day one and collaborated with the rest of my team in complex searches. Coming into the business from a non-technology research background, my team has supported me in my learning spending time one on one to share their expertise. As part of my role, I get to speak with brilliant technologists and leaders, and what I enjoy the most is building long-lasting relationships whether they are successful in getting the role or not. Research is also an important component of my role, and I enjoy learning about new roles and understanding the impact they can make in our client’s organisations. Identifying the right leader first-time round is crucial!
Victoria Torrillas
Senior Associate, Global Functions, London

“I joined the business in 2013, which was initially nbi consulting and later acquired by Sheffield Haworth, as an Intern in the London office. Since then, I have had the opportunity to work in Hong Kong, Singapore and most recently Dubai. What I love most about my role is being able to work with great colleagues across multiple geographies and having fun doing really impactful work for clients. I really enjoy being part of the growth journey of the consulting and professional services practice; growing our key accounts across multiple geographies and seeing the positive impact our work has had on our clients.”
