We are working with one of the most exciting scale-ups in the world right now!

The business has developed a revolutionary new imaging technology and has exceeding its first commercial year revenue target and sees impressive revenue growth over the coming years.

The next stage of the plan is to augment their data sets with new data streams created internally and through third party partnerships. The internal data streams will come from a mix of new ground-based and airborne sensor technologies, such as drones and other avionic devices. This creates an exciting and unique roadmap and a compelling career opportunity in the Executive Team – VP Hardware Engineering.

The role has the following remit:

  • Your primary goal is to establish and grow a highly performing engineering organisation.
  • You will need to integrate quickly into the Executive Team and be viewed as the de facto leader for the hardware engineering team.
  • You will set the engineering roadmap and empower the team to execute this, delivering against all agreed goals as the company continues to scale.
  • Design the organisation and its structure to ensure the most effective team and structure is in place. Ensure that there is a clear growth path for the members of the engineering team.
  • Build a clear reporting template and interfaces to the CEO, wider Executive Team and the Board.

 

Key Experiences:

  • You will be a strong inspirational team builder and leader, able to quickly win over the existing Hardware Engineering team and be deemed a peer to the Executive Team.
  • The managerial and leadership elements of this role are as important as your experience of engineering.
  • Significant experience of leading hardware engineering teams building high technical and complex systems. This experience will have been gained in a fast moving and highly innovative environment.
  • Strong technical background, with a proven track record of leading teams of 50+. Experience of leading offshore development teams is desirable, though not essential.
  • Highly experienced in taking ownership of the technology roadmap and in defining, developing and implementing the technical strategy in alignment with the business objectives, within a multiple product context.

 

Our client is open to candidates applying from across Europe, however in order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will need to relocate to Helsinki.
