We are hiring a Resource Manager to support our SH Consulting practice in London and help us to launch in the US market

The SH Consulting practice

Following the acquisition of S&H Consulting in 2019 we have now rebranded the business as SH Consulting.  SH Consulting operates as a distinct practice within the Sheffield Haworth group and works with financial services firms to enable transformation. 

SH Consulting has Master Service Agreements in place with a number of Banks and Asset Managers and operates on a Statement of Work basis utilising a blend of permanent, retained and associate resources to deliver the work.  Our core areas of expertise are in Risk & Regulatory change and we also have a strong track record within Technology, Digital, Operations and Finance change.  We help clients to fix and remediate tactical problems, run change programmes more successfully and build better change capability for the future.  


Overview of the Role

Currently SH Consulting works solely on UK based client engagements and owing to growing demand from our existing client base we are looking to grow our presence in the US.  Building a US talent pool of consultants with skills in Risk & Regulatory change will be an initial element of the role. 

You will also support our UK based client relationships and will work closely with our Client Directors to ensure that our engagements are delivered by the very best people.   


The Position Profile

Responsibilities and tasks:

  • The SH Consulting practice primarily operates an associate model providing transformation services to clients in Financial Services, typically Tier One banks and Asset Management firms
  • Your role is to support the resourcing for these client projects, ensuring that we can quickly deploy highly skilled individuals and teams in line with client requirements
  • Build and maintain talent pool (virtual bench) of associate consultants across core areas of capability for the team including: Risk, Quant, Regulatory Change, Compliance, Technology, Operations, Finance Transformation and M&A/integration
  • These are typically Business Analyst, PMO, Project Manager, Programme Manager and Technical Specialist SMEs such as Quants and Developers
  • Utilise CRM, Linked In, EFinancial Careers and other relevant sources as well as identifying high calibre resources through referral and recommendation
  • Conduct initial screening and validation/interview/verbal referencing of new resources before adding to talent pool
  • Horizon Scanning: ensure you are aware of upcoming market trends and regulatory topics and are building talent pools of relevant people in line with those 
  • Develop relationship with our Outplacement partner to identify exceptional talent for the SH Consulting talent pool
  • Assist the Practice EA in onboarding of associate consultants to client projects and dealing with ad-hoc ongoing queries from them
  • Provide ad-hoc support to SH Consulting Client Directors on sales and business development activity as required


US market entry project: 

  • We do not currently provide SH Consulting services in the US although Sheffield Haworth have a strong presence in the region for Executive Search
  • Following client demand (with many programmes already spanning UK/US for our key clients) we wish to enter the market in 2022. Initial focus will be on New York and in time this is likely to expand to other financial services centres such as North Carolina, San Francisco
  • You will be responsible for building a virtual bench of high calibre associate consultants
  • Research US market and create relevant talent pools for delivery of projects in the US. These are likely to be similar skill sets to the UK:  Risk, Regulatory Change, Quant etc and typically as PMOs, Project Managers, Business Analysts and Technical SMEs


Prior experience:

  • You will have a good understanding of change and transformation in financial services and ideally an existing network of practitioners/candidates with relevant skills
  • You will have a good understanding of the contractor/interim/associate market place (ie IR35) and will have worked in a relevant position in recruitment or consulting for at least 10 years
  • Although this role does not require you to do any business development in itself you should have a strong commercial sensibility and client focus

Salary and Benefits

  • This is initially a Fixed Term Contract position.
  • Competitive Salary dependent on skill/ experience.
  • Office hours are 08:30 – 17:30 .
  • Discretionary Bonus Award
